Nice write up. Good that you mentioned in the notes about using the phone as model as well. That's what I have done on my last 3 visits to Nigeria. One of my phones (treo 750) has the 2100 band used in Nigeria, so I just sign up for the 500 naira daily plan on the days I need it. It worked out quite well on all occasions.

I would like to bring to your attention that I have received horrendous treatment from Virgin Mobile since my first call to customer services!! I am seriously P*** off by the whole network now!!

The package was sold with sales agents agreeing to my every wish, without any follow through. It is pathetic that customer services now has to bare the brunt of some sales guy who’s earned his commission.

Firstly, I was registered for 2 contracts, of which one was approved and the other declined. I wasn’t informed of this and was sent the one phone anyway with no feedback. When I complained about that, they sent me a second contract no questions asked. Then I could not afford to make payments due to a financial crisis. My line was suspended and not re-instated. My bills continued and was debited off my account yet I received no services. I only discovered this when I called in to Virgin Mobile to find out what my arrears as my financial situation has gotten much better. I would also like to bring to your attention that for a year or more, I have been charged for a service that I did not request, namely Phonesured and want my money to be refunded.

I trusted my case to be handled by Priscilla Mpuru who was supposed to get back to me but has, as yet, still not contacted me.

I am super upset! Please call me on 0722 926 954. I’ve called in 3 times today and have been cut off all 3 times. Which makes the situation worse!!!

I would like to pass a complaint about the poor service i got on Saturday the 10th of April 2010. I phoned your customer care centre in the morning and was put on hold for more than 30minutes and after patiently waiting i managed to speak to the call attendent whose name i got who assisted me and then i asked her to refer me to her supervisor and had to hold again for the supervisor to come to the phone to attend me but he never did until i got really frustrated and hang up. My frustration is that as busy as the guy may have been at least MTN should have had the courtesy of telling me that the guy is currently busy because now i dont know whether he was actually busy or was just avoiding my complaint knowing that i was eventually going to hang up. This was certainly a disservice and what is the point in having a customer care center when i am not bieng cared for??????????????????

I have tried this new service and it's just nice and fast too. You should've asked about the spamming. I got some MTN messages over and over and over again sometime back. Was SMS Ghana behind that?

David,
The value of Internet access you get from MTN Ghana broadband multiplies as you load higher airtime denominations.
If you load the 10 GHc airtime unit, you get 400MB, however if you load the 20 GHc unit, you get 1000MB each load (i.e 1GB). Thank your stars you were not loading lower denominations, which is tantamount to throwing your money away!

I only load $20 GHc units, which is fantastic value for money.
I wish Nigerian MTN could cook up a similar affordable package for multimedia/web developers like me, who consume 5GB per month.

It's good innovation on Google side. At the last G-Nigeria day, attendees questioned Google on why the service is not available to Nigerians, Google say they are working on it and should extend it soon.

The better part of this is that you can text someone immediately after the mail so that the person can get his/her box for your mail.

I am grossly disappointed by this mobile money service in Uganda for thecompany's neglect of customer's concerns.For example I forgot my password it is now over two weeks before I recived a new on the promise was at first 'within 24 hrs you will recieve a new password'!!!
It is now weeks.
